Student’s Trash Basket Toss Earns Class A Perfect Score
A slam dunk for the whole class!
Ohio State University student Vinny Forte must be feeling like the big man on campus. Forte recently earned his entire chemistry class a 100 percent on the first quiz of the year.
Every year, a chemistry prof tosses a paper ball into his lecture hall class to demonstrate the concept of “donating a proton.” (I won’t even pretend to understand what that means.) The professor announced, as he does every year, that if the student who caught the ball can sink a shot into the garbage can at the front of the cavern-like room, the entire class gets a perfect score on the first quiz of the semester. Forte took took the challenge, and fellow student Rachel Brown captured it on video and posted to Twitter.
There’s the target looming by the blackboard. Talk about a tough shot!
Two words: EN FUEGO.
S/o to Benny for making this shot and getting the entire lecture an automatic 100 on our first ochem quiz pic.twitter.com/nmYJ34DjdM

As Dan Patrick often said on ESPN SportsCenter, “You can’t stop him. You can only hope to contain him.”
(Also, a student later corrected Rachel that her classmate’s name is Vinny not Benny!)
Hooray for Vinny!
