Romeo And Juliet Are Born 18 Hours Apart At The Same Hospital

But soft, what light through yonder bassinet breaks?

Once upon a time, in a town called Hardeeville, South Carolina, two babies were born. Within these 18 hours, both a Romeo and Juliet came into the world at Coastal Carolina Hospital… and if they don’t fall in love (minus the tragic ending) we will be seriously peeved.

Yes, it’s true. The world’s most romantic names sprang afresh unto these two babes. They were even delivered by the same doctor! And before you ask, no this wasn’t planned. Romeo and Juliet’s parents have never met, and had no idea about their star-crossed names.

While the goofy show “Psych” isn’t quite as romantic as one of Shakespeare’s most famous tragedy, the name has staying power. And what of Romeo? Were his parents influenced by the Bard? Nope.

“It’s funny because we didn’t even name him Romeo after Shakespeare,” said Morgan Hernandez, 24, of Beaufort. “We named him after a singer named Romeo Santos that my husband and I both love.”

Both families are stunned by the coincidence and say “it’s too funny” how the whole story has played out so far.

“Our kid’s already famous and she’s only a day old,” Shifflett’s husband, Allan Umana, told ABC News.

The internet, obviously, is loving the story thanks to a post from the hospital’s photographer. Cassie Clayshulte posted a picture on Facebook of the two babes side-by-side in their bassinets with the whole story, and it has racked up a few thousand likes so far.

“Both babies have full heads of hair and already make the cutest couple!” Clayshulte wrote.

Romeo and Juliet’s parents have already started talking about trying to get the babies together for their first birthdays… to have a Shakespeare-themed photo shoot.

Meanwhile, Clayshulte is looking a bit further into the future than just birthdays.

“We already discussed that if they get married I get to shoot the wedding and their engagement photos,” she said.

Happy birthday, Romeo and Juliet! We hope your story is significantly happier than the last pair that shared your names.
