Man Dressed As Batman Is Warding Off ‘Killer Clowns’
Batman is here to save the day.
When you’ve got dangerous clowns taking over your city, there’s only one man you can call. That’s right, Batman.
Residents in one town in the U.K. may feel as if they’re living life from the page of a comic book. According to BBC Cumbria, a man dressed as Batman is patrolling the streets of coastal Whitehaven to keep children from getting scared after clowns have been spotted around town. We have Cumbria Superheros, a costume company, to thank for the masked man working to keep the streets safe.
While the idea of a Batman costume-clad man roaming the streets is amusing, police are taking reported sightings of the clowns very seriously. According to the Metropolitan Police News, “We are currently assessing a small number of reported ‘Killer Clown’ incidents in London, three of which meet the threshold of a criminal offense,” the commanding officer said. “Our primary responsibility is identifying and investigating those incidents where a criminal offense has occurred.”
Creepy clown sightings have been on the rise around the world in recent months, leading us to wonder if other towns should follow Whitehaven’s lead and put a superhero like Batman on the streets.
As this Facebook post shows, it’s because of Batman that the kids can feel safe around town once more. “I seen on my mammy fb that u caught the clown and this means I can go back to school and not be scared. Thank you for your efforts,” one user wrote. Of course, they went on to ask, “do u have a bat mobile?”
Because hey, if you’re talking to Batman, you just gotta ask, don’t you?
According to Telegraph, Cumbria Superheroes has reassured that the costumed man is not a vigilante. He’s just trying to reassure local children who are scared of the “killer clowns.” And no one could fault him for that.
