CD Fails To Play National Anthem, So This Player Steps In To Sing It Herself

Sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do. No time to think—just do it.

And that's exactly what one high school volleyball player in San Antonio, Texas, did at a recent match when technical difficulties prevented the national anthem from playing.

At the recent Holmes High School volleyball match, the CD player that was cued up for "The Star-Spangled Banner" suddenly didn't work. So Marina Garcia, a senior student-athlete grabbed the P.A. mic and sang it herself!

After she wrapped it up with "and the home..of the..braaaaave," her teammates and the fans in the gym stood and cheered.

"I honestly couldn't ask for more," Garcia told KSAT. "They all had smiles on their faces. Some of them teared up. Some of them had told me that they had the chills and just that feeling that I can give to people that emotion, that was so exciting."

Watch her tackle the national anthem without any warm-up or hesitation:

Rather than wait for someone else to figure out a fix, Garcia decided to take matters into her own hands, and we applaud her for that!
