The first time a groom sees his bride is a magical moment. It's a moment that represents two people starting their lives together, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health until death do them part.
Whether it's a private first look for the couple before the ceremony or he sees her walking down the aisle towards him as the ceremony begins, there are videos all over the internet of grooms overcome with emotion at the beauty of the moment. And then there's this groom who was stunned to see his bride for the first time on their wedding dayâbut not for all the typical reasons.
No, no. It's because his bride chose to punk him and wear an inflatable T-Rex costume for their very memorable first look.
In the hysterical video (which you can watch below), the groom's wife stands behind him in a truly absurd inflatable dinosaur costume. Facing away from her, the groom stands, holding a bouquet of flowers, unaware of what is to befall him.
When he turns around, he immediately bursts into laughter, and we can't help but laugh with him. This good sport embraces his soon-to-be wife, who can be heard asking if her soon-to-be husband was mad about her stunt. Through gales of laughter he tells her, "No!" and the pair shares a kiss.
Eventually, the groom helps the bride unzip out of her giant, ridiculous costume. Out she steps in a beautiful (white, non-dinosaur related) wedding dress.
"I love you so much," he tells her, still laughing.
"I love you too!" she replies, shaking her hair out of her eyes and stepping out of the deflating remains of the costume.
While this video is cute and sweet and funny, it's also an important reminder to all of us: if you can't laugh with the person you're marrying, you're in for a rough ride. May we all remember the creativity and humor this bride brings to her marriage and strive to emulate it in our own lives? T. Rex costume optional.
