If you have ever worried that you are going to end up single for the rest of your life, well then, this is the heartwarming story you need to read right now.
As the Miami Herald reports, 80-year-old Maria Teresa Cobar recently wed 95-year-old Carlos Victor Suarez at Aventura Plaza Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Miami, Florida. The marriage is the first for Cobar, who immigrated from Guatemala at the age of 26 as a single mother and did not have time to look for love.
Her groom told the Herald that it was love at first sight. The pair will now share a suite together rather than live in separate rooms in the nursing home where they met.
If you are wondering what the blushing bride wore, she chose a gorgeous champagne-colored gown. As their wedding photos prove, she was glowing with happiness along with her groom.
Their family and friends are so pleased that the couple have found each other and they are very supportive of the union. Meanwhile Aventura Plaza's activities coordinator, Allison Almirola, worked extra-hard to make sure that the day was special, particularly since Cobar has never been married before.
While we tend to associate love and romance with youth, a number of studies prove otherwise.
One recent study found that physical intimacy gets better as we age. There is even a slight bump in the frequency of sex for those who have been married 50 years or more.
Other studies have found similar outcomes. A new study from the University of Pittsburgh found that women over the age of 45 reported the most sexual satisfaction, and they also stated that fulfilling sex is still very important to them.
In other words, when it comes to love, age is really just a number.
