Pregnant Mamas: You’re Going To Want A ‘Bump Bowl’ For Your Newborn’s First Photos
Newborn photography is a popular trend among new parents—and for good reason. Who doesn’t want timeless photos to treasure of this special time in your life? And, I mean, come on, newborn photos are pretty much the best thing ever!
It’s almost too much cuteness to handle!
Seriously, this cutie in an oversized bowtie!
But, there is a very cool new trend in the world of baby photography. Photographer Jocelyn Conway has started something called the “Bump Bowl.” She creates a plaster cast of a pregnant woman’s baby bump when she’s about 36 weeks pregnant. The, after baby is born, Conway snaps photos of the newborn nestled in the cast mama’s belly. Awwwwww! How sweet.
Pregnant belly casts have been popular for a while now, and this latest twist gives the keepsake casts a dual purpose. You get to have a cast of your pregnant belly as a commemorative item, but also as a photography prop for when your new baby arrives!
And it is just amazing to see how newborn babies fit into their mamas’ bellies. It gives us such a unique view of what they might look like in utero. Look how snug and cozy they are!
Forget about boxes and beds and other photography props. A bump bowl is the perfect container for a baby! It’s just as Mother Nature intended.
How content does this baby look? We bet she is happy to be back in mom’s belly again. . .at least until she can be back in her arms!
The “Bump Bowl” trend is probably one that will be here to stay for a while, and with pictures this cute, it is easy to see why.
Is there any better vessel to cradle a newborn baby, than a beautiful replica of safe place he most recently resided? Such a beautiful and personal prop, and I'm so glad this mother brought it to me to use.
